Children's University was founded by Narendra Modi (then Chief Minister of Gujarat) with the aim to conduct research in areas of overall development of children. University was founded vide "Children's University Act, 2009" and is affiliated with the University Grants Commission. The University conducts research, education, training and extension services for creating right environment and systems to facilitate development of children and is the only Children's University in India.
Children’s University is a state university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The institution offers postgraduate courses in a number of disciplines. In addition, M Phil programs, Ph.D. courses, PG Diploma, and Certificate courses are also offered to the students of this university.
The admission procedure is conducted online, and students may take admission on the basis of merit. In case of admission to M Phil courses, the candidates need to sit for an entrance examination conducted by the state. The university is a well-reputed one and offers a convenient campus life to its students.
